In an effort to contribute to enhancing citizens’ participation in the 2023 general elections, our team at the Rising Child Foundation hosted a training with our community volunteers in Kano State on voter mobilization strategies, the team of volunteers will lead community drive campaigns for PVC collections and voter mobilization in Dala, Fagge, Gwale, Kano Municipals and Kumbotso local government areas of Kano state.
As a community volunteer, it is essential to understand the power of mobilization when it comes to encouraging citizens to participate in civic activities. To help equip volunteers with the necessary knowledge and resources to reach out to their local communities and motivate them to collect their voter cards to ensure participation in the forthcoming general election, the training session provided insights on strategies for community mobilization.
The training provided volunteers with the skills and techniques they need to effectively engage their local communities and motivate them to take the necessary steps to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC). Volunteers learned how to craft effective messages and strategies to reach out to their local communities and spread the word about the importance of voting and the power of their voice.
The training also provided volunteers with the knowledge and resources to set up and manage their own voter mobilization campaigns. They learned how to leverage online and digital platforms such as social media to spread the word about the upcoming election and the importance of collecting their voter cards.
At the conclusion of the training, volunteers left feeling empowered and equipped with the tools and resources they need to make a difference in their local communities. With the help of these dedicated volunteers, the RCF team is confident that they can make a difference in the upcoming election and ensure adequate voter participation in our target communities.
We appreciate our funding partners @Govote @Co-creation Hub for the confidence they have in us to lead this project.
